MARANIELLO - Rebis

The recent production of the sculptor Giuseppe Maraniello is presented on the three floors of the Venice gallery through thirty works specially conceived for Flora Bigai Arte Contemporanea, which offer a journey through much of his research. Three floors, three cycles of sculptures, three gradual chromatic stimuli, three proposals of different materials.

On the first level the dark bronze in which the sculptor's creative alphabet unravels, with man seen ideally as an athlete or caveman on a panorama of bronze spiers.

On the second floor we find shiny gold and silver, with colors that highlight hunting scenes, prehistoric wars, archaic elements and architectural structures.

Finally, on the third floor, the narrative value of the exhibition expands and concludes, and one is amazed by the marble (a material used for the first time by the artist), dazzling with candid luminescence. The backgrounds of the paintings, always sculptural, are not references to rock engravings, but to old childhood drawings by Gianfranco, son of the artist and well-known contemporary art critic.

The catalogue, with a text by Maurizio Sciaccaluga, also presents some poems by Mario Luzi, emphasizing the collaboration between Maraniello and one of the major contemporary poets of our country.
